If the thought of delectable wines, beautiful beaches and captivating culture has got you intrigued, then we have a selection of comfortable and luxurious hotels to accommodate you, including the renowned Sofitel Adelaide, the sophisticated Eos by SkyCity and the heritage-filled Mayfair Hotel.

B: Byron Bay

One of the most iconic locations in Australia and one that those visiting the country often flock to due to its outstanding natural landscapes, Byron Bay is the perfect mixture of boho and beauty, where spirituality meets sophistication. When looking for things to do in the area, there really is no better option than the plethora of amazing beaches that hug the coastline, and whether it's Tallow Beach, Wategos Beach or Belongil Beach, you really are spoilt for choice.

C: Circle Quay

Bordered by the Sydney Opera House, Royal Botanic Gardens and Sydney Harbour Bridge, Circle Quay is often one of the first places visitors explore in the city of Sydney due to its proximity and prime position on the harbour. The quay is the perfect location to marvel at the magnificent structures that sit on the glistening water's edge. The quay is also the perfect location to hire your own tender and explore Sydney from the water.

D: Daintree Rainforest

When you think of Australia, you might not think of rainforests, but the Daintree Rainforest is the largest rainforest in the country and is situated in Tropical North Queensland. Spanning 1,200 square kilometres, it is home to thousands of species of trees and plants and a plethora of animals and insects. Whether you are visiting the rainforest on a Daintree River cruise or you're looking to explore the walks and trails to get right to the heart of the action, a trip to the rainforest will offer a whole new perspective on Queensland.
Our private Queensland's Outback, Reef and Rainforest itinerary is the perfect way to explore Queensland, as well as the greens of The Daintree Rainforest and the intense turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef.

E: Eureka Sydeck

An experience that can't be missed if you're visiting Melbourne is the Eureka Skydeck. Located in the centre of the city, it offers a breathtaking view of everything Melbourne has to offer.

F: Flinders Ranges

Flinders Ranges and Outback offer a whole new perspective on Australia. With its rocky outcrops and deep craters, it might be confused with the face of an unexplored planet. Surrounded by ancient mountain ranges and cliffs, you won't find a location more peaceful and mesmerising. Take a nighttime drive and sit and gaze at the unique view of the stars shining brightly over the barren land.

N: Ningaloo Reef

UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef offers 260 kilometres of ocean beauty. It is best known for being home to incredible whale sharks and other amazing reef life. Teaming with natural life, many flock here to swim amongst the reef and its tropical residents.
We spoke to Chris and Bec from Salt and Charcoal. They've been travelling around Australia and spoke to us about this beautiful natural attraction: "The Ningaloo Reef, in Western Australia, is famous for its unspoiled beauty and rich marine life, which you can explore either snorkelling or diving directly from the shore (unlike other reefs where you need a boat). Plus, it's one of the few places on Earth where you can swim with manta rays and turtles all year long, and with whale sharks and humpback whales during their migration!"
Overlooking Ningaloo Reef, Sal Salis, is the perfect place to stay for those who want to enjoy the reef. This enchanting eco-camp has only fifteen luxury wilderness tents, making it an intimate and unique stay. With activities on offer, including sea kayaking with sharks, whales, and fish, as well as swimming with whale sharks and humpback whales, this is a wildlife lovers' dream. Sal Salis

O: Old Melbourne Gaol

A former jail and modern-day museum, Old Melbourne Gaol is a fascinating visit for anyone enjoying a luxury holiday in Melbourne. Once holding some of Australia's most notorious criminals, including bushranger Ned Kelly and Federick Bailey Deeming, the jail was operational between 1845 and 1924, with 133 executions happening within its walls. Today, you can learn more about its inhabitants and staff, see the cells, and sit in the judge's chair in the Old Magistrates' Court.

P: Phillip Islands

Ninety minutes south of Melbourne lies Phillip Island. A popular day trip for those staying in the city, Phillip Island is home to fantastic wildlife - including penguins! - a range of unique and beautiful towns and villages and some beautiful beaches. It's a popular destination for those with kids, so if you're on a luxury family holiday, this should be a stop to add to your Australia bucket list.

Q: Queensland

One of the most beloved regions of Australia for locals and visitors alike, Queensland is an excellent location for a holiday. Whether you visit Brisbane, The Great Barrier Reef, The Whitsundays, Cairns or another of the brilliant destinations here, a luxury holiday to Queensland will surely bring you sunshine and smiles.

R: Rottnest Island

Just off the Perth Coast, Rottnest Island is popular for a range of reasons. The protected nature reserve is home to plenty of brilliant flora and fauna, including the adorable quokka. These cute marsupials have no known predators, so they are particularly friendly and always look as though they have a smile
Tess of Tessomewhere is a Perth local who had this to say about Rottnest Island: "Nestled off the coast of Perth, Western Australia, Rottnest Island is a small, car-free island paradise best known for its pristine turquoise beaches, incredible snorkelling and unique wildlife spotting. The island is home to the quokka, an adorable marsupial made famous thanks to the "quokka selfies" that have captured hearts worldwide on social media. Despite its popularity, Rottnest Island has retained its laid-back island charm, offering visitors the opportunity to relax and explore the island's untouched landscapes and aquatic wonders by bicycle or hop-on hop-off bus."
We also spoke to Emily. Blogging at She's a Trip, Emily is from Texas but has travelled the world and loved Rottnest Island. She told us: "Rottnest Island (an easy day trip from Perth) is a must-see Australian gem with white sandy beaches, clear waters, diverse landscapes, and adorable quokkas. Visitors can cycle, snorkel, or relax on the beach while enjoying the stunning views. It's a unique destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike."

S: Sydney Opera House

How could we put anything but the Sydney Opera House for the letter S? This architectural marvel has been a landmark and icon of not only Sydney but all of Australia since its completion in 1973. Since 2007, it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list and was shortlisted for consideration for the New 7 Wonders of the World.
Linda, from Muy Linda Travels, is Australian herself and talked about why a visit to the Sydney Opera House is a must for those visiting Down Under: "One of the most visited attractions in Australia, the Sydney Opera House is at the centre of Sydney's Music and Art scene. This remarkable building is world-famous for its innovative architecture and stunning harbourside setting. To discover Sydney's best-known landmark, book a ticket for an Opera or a Symphony, take a tour backstage, wander around the harbour, and relish the spectacular water views and photogenic scenery. The Sydney Opera House is an Australian icon that should not be missed on a visit to Sydney."
We've also spoken to Helen from Curious Goose. She's visited Sydney Opera House on her travels, and told us: "A trip to Sydney is not complete without visiting the famous Sydney Opera House. The Opera House hosts a wide range of comedy, music and dance shows, however that is not the only way to explore inside the iconic building. You can also book a dining experience, or join one of the tours to learn about the building's architecture, or to explore backstage.
"The Opera House is just as impressive from the outside, too. One of the best photo spots for the Sydney Opera House is from Mrs Macquaries chair in the Botanic Gardens. From this viewpoint, you can capture both the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Enjoy a coffee or cocktail in the Opera House bar, with views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay. And at night, don't miss the light show, where colourful art installations are projected onto the famous Opera House sails. The show repeats 4 times daily and is free to watch."

T: Tasmania

Australia's island state is a wonderful destination that shows a unique side of the country. With Hobart, the second-oldest city in Australia, outstanding scenery, and unique links with the rest of the world, including Antarctica, Tasmania is one to add to your Australia holiday.
We spoke to Nicole, who shares her travels on The Abroad Blog. She told us why a trip here is a must: "Tasmania is one of Australia's least visited territories but is highly underrated. Known for its wineries in the Huon Valley, food scene, coastlines of Freycinet National Park, and haunted happenings at Port Arthur, a Tasmania road trip deserves a spot on your Aussie bucket list."

U: Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Home to Uluru, commonly known as Ayers Rock, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory is known for its red sands and otherworldly landscapes. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the landmarks here were formed 350 million years ago and it's believed humans have inhabited the land for more than 10,000 years.

V: Victoria

With Melbourne, Phillip Island, the Yarra Valley (more on that to come!) and many more amazing locations, Victoria might be one of Australia's smallest states, but it packs a punch in terms of things to see and do. A luxury holiday to Victoria offers the chance to mix the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne with some incredible natural landscapes and experiences, offering you the best of both worlds.

W: Western Australia

The vast state of Western Australia encompasses the country's north, west and south coast and is actually the second-largest country state in the world! Thanks to this size, a luxury holiday to Western Australia can take on many forms - a city break in Perth, a wildlife adventure at Ningaloo Reef, an outback experience at El Questro Homestead - whatever you want, Western Australia can deliver.

X: XXXX

As one of the most popular beers in the country, with one of the most popular breweries in Australia, XXXX (pronounced four-ex) is an Aussie institution that can't be missed. If you're a beer lover, then a trip to the XXXX Brewhouse in Brisbane is the perfect addition to your time in the city. With a laid-back atmosphere, take a tour of the brewery and then settle down in the Alehouse for some great food and, of course, great beer!

Y: Yarra Valley

Located just outside of Melbourne in Victoria, the Yarra Valley is known for one thing-its amazing wine. Producing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparking wine, the Yarra Valley's amazing vineyards are a great visit for any aspiring sommelier or wine lover.

Z: Taronga Zoo

We may have cheated slightly here, but Taronga Zoo is too good not to mention! Located in Sydney, this is the only place in the world where you can see giraffes with the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the background. With an Australian habitat, you can see local residents, including koalas, kangaroos, and more. The zoo is also home to Elephants, Penguins, and Sumatran Tigers.
From Adelaide to Taronga Zoo, there is a whole alphabet of attractions to enjoy in Australia on a luxury holiday. And, with Elegant Resorts, you'll have a trip tailored to you, with expert advice and care by our team of guides. Discover your journey, your way, with an Elegant Resorts holiday.
