Approximately two-hundred islands surround the Krabi coastline, ranging from small rocky outcrops, rising precipitously out of the sea, to larger islands including Koh Lanta. Crystal-clear warm waters are filled with colourful, tropical fish-life and extensive coral reefs, perfect for snorkelers and divers whilst its towering limestone formations, waterfalls and caves have made it one of the premier rock climbing destinations in the world.
Bordered by Phang Nga, Surat Thani, and Trang provinces, much of Krabi has been designated national park - interiorly, the two main national parks, Khao Phanom Bencha and Than Bokk-horani, offer attractions including waterfalls and caves, as well as opportunities for trekking and bird watching whilst the jewels of the Andaman coast - the six islands of Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park are popular with yachtsmen, scuba-divers, snorkelers.
