The ‘Ochre City’ of Marrakech kicks off your authentic, action-packed tour in Morocco. From your base just a stone’s throw away from the city’s bustling heart Jemaa El Fna Square, board a motorbike sidecar to see the city from a different angle, gaining insider knowledge from your friendly guide. Experience the city’s fascinating contrast of traditional and contemporary as you explore the medina, stopping for lunch in a secret garden. Nicknamed ‘Little Marrakech’, Taroudant is a compact but bustling city backed by the High Atlas Mountains. From here, head along La Route Miel (The Honey Road), passing by countless argan, olive and almond trees, as well as wild lavender buzzing with honeybees, stopping to taste some delicious local honey. Explore the hillside village of Taliouine, the producer of more saffron (the world’s most expensive spice) than anywhere else in Africa! Visit the saffron cooperative here, set up so that the members can enjoy improved income and living conditions from producing saffron and olive oil.

Your final stop is the characterful coastal city of Essaouira, home to a UNESCO World Heritage walled medina and a selection of fantastic galleries, showcasing work from both Moroccan and international artists. Venture out of Marrakech to the unspoilt Agafay Desert for the evening. The rocky landscapes and quiet dunes provide the perfect spot for dinner beneath the stars, while you will also get to experience a camel ride across the sands, all set the beat of a traditional live band.
Take to the Moroccan landscapes on foot and hike gently along the mountains’ foothills, exploring the dusty tracks before heading to one of the nearby villages. You’ll then have the chance to experience the warm hospitality of the Berber people, as you help to prepare a local lunch before sitting down to eat with a traditional family.
Head along La Route Miel (The Honey Road), passing by countless argan, olive and almond trees, as you venture towards Paradise Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll find natural rock pools surrounded by palm trees – idyllic for wild swimming - and breathtaking mountain scenery to enjoy.
The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Medina of Essaouira is packed with cultural gems. Tour the many art galleries, bookstores and shops selling handcrafted trinkets and gifts, before spending the remainder of your day enjoying the fresh sea breeze of Sidi Kaouki beach, where popular pastimes includes surfing, horse-riding and quad-biking.
Trek out of the city to the famous Kik Plateau, a rocky outcrop which boasts incredible views of the region. View indigenous settlements and take plenty of amazing photographs during your ascent, before stopping to enjoy a well-deserved picnic in this spectacular setting.
From the Bahia Palace, to the Yves Saint-Laurent Museum, the contrasts of the ‘Red City’ are truly unbelievable. A convergence of tradition and modernity, you will have chance to explore the bustling streets and mingle with the crowds in the medina, before retreating away from the busy atmosphere for lunch in the serenity of a secret garden.
See Morocco from a different angle as your guide and driver take you to the hidden corners of the Ochre City by motorcycle. Once you’ve toured the city from the comfort of your sidecar, pick up the pace and explore the Little Atlas Mountains, the ‘Djibilette’ and the olive groves, before traversing the Palmeraie as the sun begins to set.
A small village at the heart of Morocco’s Sirwa mountain range, Taliouine produces more saffron than anywhere else in Africa! You’ll visit the local saffron cooperative, which was formed to ensure fair selling prices for local farmers, and have the chance learn how it has supported locals and to browse locally made produce, ranging from soaps to olive oil.
Not far from Essaouira is Morocco's first organic vineyard, established by experienced winemaker Charles Melia. Val d'Argan grows 13 grape varieties from the Rhône Valley, producing a wide variety of both red and white wines. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to sample a gastronomic menu, paired with a selection of complementary vintage wines.
Due to the most pleasant temperatures, Morocco is best enjoyed during spring (mid-March to May) or autumn (September to October).
