What is F1 Paddock Club?

Find out exactly what is meant by the F1 paddock club & discover the VIP access it grants the lucky ticket holders in our latest blog.

If you've been one of the many sports fans who has started to take an increasing interest in Formula 1 over the past couple of years thanks to Netflix' 'Drive to Survive' series or Brad Pitt's eponymous new movie, then you may well have heard of the F1 Paddock Club.
The F1 Paddock Club is a VIP offering which transcends traditional hospitality packages. Anyone who is lucky enough to hold an F1 paddock club ticket is granted access to an exclusive area nestled above the team garages and pit lane where high octane racing meets ultra high end indulgence. This is a world away from the crowded grandstands, providing guests with the best views overlooking the race track and pit lane. From here you'll see the race start, the frantic pit stops completed and the winner take the checkered flag right in front of your eyes.
From the moment guests arrive, they are enveloped in an atmosphere that fuses elegance with the raw passion for motorsport. Every detail is meticulously crafted to cater to those seeking more than just a car race - F1 paddock club pass holders gain exclusive access, expert insights and experience an unforgettable spectacle.
At the very heart of the F1 Paddock Club is unequalled proximity to the inner workings of the Grand Prix weekend. Guests can see the pit crews preparing for battle and watch on as they complete their sub-3 second pit stops conducted just metres below their feet. They will also feel the rumble of the engines echo through the paddock club hospitality suite and see the strategies unfold in real time.
However, this is more than just a front row seat. An F1 paddock club pass grants you access to the hidden world that exists behind the grid. Guests are treated to guided tours of the pit lane where they can interact with team personnel. You may even see Ted Kravitz doing his popular 'Notebook' programme for Sky Sports where he sums up team performances and interviews key personnel. You too will have the opportunity to see these high profile figures interviewed in real time, with the F1 paddock Club also being visited by a number of drivers throughout the weekend, blurring the line between spectator and insider.
The whole experience is punctuated by gourmet dining, fine wines and an open bar, all of which has been specially curated by expert caterers and events organisers to ensure that the paddock club package is a match for the prestige of the sport itself. With state of the art viewing lounges, live race feeds and concierge-level service, every element of the Paddock Club service is designed to heighten the senses and create an unforgettable experience. The Paddock Club isn't merely about watching an F1 race, it is about immersing yourself in the sports culture, its energy, history and prestige. For those fortunate enough to have an F1 paddock club pass, you can expect to have an unrivalled F1 holiday experience that will stay with you for life.

What to Wear to the F1 Paddock Club

The general F1 paddock club dress code is smart-casual. However, we'd also recommend making sure what you wear is practical and comfortable, particularly when it comes to footwear. This is due to the amount of walking which is required throughout the day.
Collared shirts with trousers, or elegant blouses and dresses are generally expected. Smart jeans are also acceptable, but we'd advise avoiding wearing jeans with tears or rips. Comfortable closed toe shoes are also recommended on account of the extensive walking.
If you have an F1 paddock club pass at a Grand Prix in a particularly hot country, smart shorts or sandals are sometimes accepted but make sure that the sandals are suitable for the walking which is to be expected.
Sportswear, beach wear and footwear such as flip flops are to be avoided. The only exception to this is that you will be permitted to wear F1 team merchandise. However, we'd advise against this if you are going to be entering areas in the domain or a rival team. In these circumstances wearing the team wear of a rival may be viewed negatively and could even limit the interactions that are possible with personnel.

F1 Champions Club Vs Paddock Club

The F1 Paddock Club and F1 Champions Club are both premium hospitality experiences that are available at F1 races. However, they differ significantly when it comes to access and price points.
As we have already noted, the F1 Paddock Club pass gives you access to the very top tier hospitality offering. With an F1 Paddock Club pass you'll find yourself based directly above the team garages, offering unmatched views of the pitlane, team mechanics during pitstops and the starting and finish line. Throughout the day F1 Paddock Club ticket holders will enjoy luxury dining with gourmet meals, fine wines, champagne and open bars. Guests will also be given the chance to walk the pitlane where they can interact with drivers and team personnel.
An F1 Paddock Club pass also ensures that you will be invited to exclusive events such as driver and team member Q&A sessions. Higher tier Paddock Club passes can even guarantee priority access to the post-race podium celebrations.
The F1 Champions Club meanwhile is a more accessible yet still a premium level experience. It typically provides trackside suites or reserved grandstand seating which offers excellent views of the track. These suites will often be located at key corners around the circuit or on the main start/finish straight. Hospitality is provided which usually ensures gourmet snacks, chef-prepared meals and open bars which serve wines, beers and soft drinks.
With an F1 Champions Club pass you will often benefit from a guided paddock tour and grid walk prior on either the practice or qualifying day. Occasionally these packages will also include appearances from some of the drivers and F1 insiders.
The slightly higher levels of access and hospitality provided with the F1 Paddock ensures that F1 Paddock Club passes ticket prices are often 30-50% higher than those of the F1 Champions Club.

How Much is the F1 Paddock Club?

F1 Paddock Club ticket prices for the full three-day F1 weekend do vary significantly depending on the venue of the Grand Prix. This is often influenced by the prestige of the event, demand for tickets and weekend schedule with some venues potentially upping prices to reflect the increasing hosting fees they face in order to stage a sprint weekend or to reflect the supporting entertainment which is part of the package. For instance, the Grand Prix's in Singapore and Abu Dhabi are now almost as famous for their live music performances as they are for the action on the track.
All of this makes estimating the total cost for a single weekend Paddock Club pass tricky. We would therefore advise Elegant Sports customers to contact our team on a case by case basis to learn more.
