Chimpanzee and Monkey Trekking
Nyungwe is home to around 13 different species of primate, including chimpanzees, making tracking these fascinating creatures one of the main reasons that many travellers visit the park. Join an expert tracker as you trek through the lush forest in search of these amazing animals as they play and live in their natural habitat. Supergroups of over 300 Colobus monkeys also live within the park, while it is one of the few places on the planet where L’Hoest’s monkeys can be seen. Beyond these, many of the monkey species found in the park are endemic to the region – including the owl-faced monkey.
