After pickup from Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, prepare to experience first-hand the solitude and magic of the Canadian Rockies in the wintertime. Begin with a helicopter flight for front-row glacier views, before a scenic snowshoe tour and horse-drawn sleigh ride, complete with a delicious hot chocolate. The next part of your adventure takes you to Abraham Lake via helicopter to see the famous ice bubbles. This stunning, wide open lake completely freezes over in the winter and in the process, traps methane gas underneath the ice, creating a spectacular visual display. Spend the following day skiing the three main areas known as the Big 3, all within easy reach and offering a variety of pistes. Lake Louise boasts the longest ski season in Canada from November to May, Sunshine Village has challenging downhill runs, and Norquay is the smallest of the resorts, with plenty of nursery slopes.
Take a private car transfer to Fairmont Banff Springs.
Prepare for an otherworldly experience as you head to Banff National Park for an icewalk tour, passing mighty waterfalls transformed into glittering pillars of ice thanks to the sub-zero temperatures. The most popular ice walk is the narrow gorge of Johnston Canyon, where steel walkways give an airy view of the canyon below.
The following day, prepare for a full day of outdoor fun with a guided snowmobiling tour up to Paradise Basin in Panorama, BC. Witness spectacular snow-covered mountain scenery by following trails through lush forests, stopping for a delicious mountainside barbecue lunch, before visiting the remnants of an early 1900’s silver mining town.
Your final day in the area will be spent breathing-in the crisp Canadian mountain air and marvelling at some of nature’s most awe-inspiring handiwork at three extraordinary Banff ski resorts. Ski the famous ‘Champagne powder’ of Sunshine Village, The Lake Louise Mountain Resort and Banff Mount Norquay, with your Ski Big 3 tri-area lift tickets.
Begin your day with a magical helicopter flight over untouched landscapes, which will transport you to the perfect spot for a snowshoeing tour. Once you've completed your walk and warmed up with a hot chocolate, board your horse-drawn carriage which will lead you to a hearty Canadian lunch. The afternoon will take you to Abraham Lake by helicopter to witness the famous ice bubbles. This stunning lake completely freezes during winter, and in the process, traps methane gas underneath the ice creating a spectacular visual display!
One of Canada's most visually spectacular feats, hike along the steel walkways as you venture into Johnston Canyon. Travel through wildlife habitats on your way and learn more about how Johnston Canyon was formed. This popular walk will lead you past the lower falls, and to the breathtaking upper icefalls.
Visit the remnants of an early 1900's Silver Mining Town located at the top of the mountain at 8,000 ft with ease as you cruise by snowmobile. You will relish in the open powder bowl for hours of play, with chance to re-fuel with a barbecue lunch in a cosy Alpine cabin! The groomed trails provide plenty of opportunity for wildlife-watching too, with your expert guide on-hand to advise what to look out for.
