Overlooking the magical Mara River and nestled between striking giant boulders and kopjes, Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge offers fifteen contemporary glass-fronted tented suites, each having been carefully positioned for maximum privacy so that you can take advantage of the incredible vistas from your private plunge pool and deck.
The bar, swimming pool and dining area also boast incredible views across the wooded and grassy slopes of the Northern Serengeti, home to the famed annual wildebeest migration, as well as a host of other incredible wildlife. Morning and evening game safaris are conducted in custom-designed 4WD vehicles, led by expert guides who will introduce you to the unique flora and fauna of the region. Reflect on your day’s safari activities with sundowners served on the kopjes, overlooking the Isuria Escarpment, before heading for a delicious locally-sourced dinner in the cosy main tent.

The lodge's surrounding area is renowned for its spectacular wildlife, offering safari-goers the chance to spot big cats, elephants, giraffe and rhinos on the open savannahs. The exact movement of animals is determined by the rains, while the iconic Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra can be seen passing through the Serengeti some time between June and October. While driving safaris are available, a great way to understand the eco-system of the Serengeti is to explore on foot. Lasting up to two hours, an experienced guide and an armed ranger will take you on a walking safari, on which you can learn how to identify the tracks of animals, understand the medicinal uses of the native plants and search for the smaller creatures that pay an integral role in the shaping of the landscape.
Children over the age of six years are warmly welcomed at Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge and there is a dedicated ‘Lemala Cubs’ programme to keep them occupied. During their stay, they can learn how to track animals around the camp, make plaster casts of spoor, or even learn how to make a bow and arrow with the local Maasai. In the evening, they'll love snuggling up around the camp fire to roast marshmallows as they listen to African stories.
Lemala Kuria Hills is the ideal spot for romance to flourish. The luxurious tented suites feature private plunge pools, while the bathrooms' beautiful freestanding tubs have some of the best views in the Serengeti. Private vehicles with a guide can be arranged at an additional cost, so the two of you can head off with a champagne picnic lunch and spend the whole day on safari.
