Dining & Gourmet
Under the watchful eye of chef, Anthony Bisquerra, La Table de l'Alpaga was awarded its second Michelin Star in 2020. Well thought out menus of five and seven courses feature outstanding cuisine inspired by the local region. Pattes Rouges Prawns, Monts du Cantal Pork, organic eggs and Beaufort Cheeses are just some of the tempting ingredients to look out for. There's also an equally tempting vegetarian menu. Knockout views of Mont Blanc add splendid natural theatre to this top notch culinary hotspot, which is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 7pm.
Ski
Before the super luxurious resort of Courchevel was born, Megève was the place to ski and be seen skiing - the French's answer to St. Moritz and glamorous it was. These days, the resort has had to take a bit of a back burner but nevertheless remains classy, upmarket and exceedingly well-received. Thanks to Mont Blanc, Megève enjoys a micro-climate and the perfect conditions for plentiful snow. There are 300km of marked trails and cross-country paths, as well as 81 lifts and two snow parks for budding snowboarders. The terrain is perhaps more suited to intermediate skiers and there's nothing too daunting for beginners while the centre of town has a rustic, medieval essence, it's also fabulously scenic and boasts many good restaurants serving superb French cuisine.
Spa Breaks
Channelling the serenity of the mountains and perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes, Spa de l’Alpaga is a gorgeous retreat complete with a hot tub and al fresco sauna facing Mont Blanc, as well as a plunge pool. Innovative and indulgent, choose from a range of sensory therapies to enjoy in the charming treatment cabins. There is also a gym open daily, as well as a personal training on request.
