Safari
Abu Camp's safari experiences can be enjoyed from land, water and air. Morning game-drives discover iconic African animals at their most active, while afternoon excursions break for sundowners before night drives back to camp, with spotlights produced to watch for predators hunting. On the water, peaceful mokoro excursions focus on the scenic beauty and often overlooked smaller plants and animals. Motorboat trips are a more frenetic introduction to the Delta's waters, while helicopter flights can be booked for a bird's-eye view of the bush.
Wildlife Encounters
Abu Camp's resident elephant herd offers guests an unrivalled opportunity to explore the bush as a member of the herd, experiencing Botswana as elephants naturally do. The unique personalities of each family member soon become clear - from playful youngsters to experienced matriarch. Activities include walking with the elephants, observing their group behaviour and participating in mud bathing, training and veterinary care, all the while learning more about elephant conservation. All of this complements the exceptional big game for which the Okavango Delta is renowned.
Romance
Pristine, remote settings and once-in-a-lifetime animal encounters make safaris inherently romantic but Abu Camp, with its peaceful and tranquil environment and magnificent setting, boasts an extra attraction for those guest who have romance in mind. For a totally memorable romantic experience, couples can stay in the elevated, open-air Star Bed for the night, providing the opportunity to sleep under a blanket of stars, right above the Elephant Boma, where the stars of the show, the elephants, sleep for the night.
