The resort offers the perfect getaway for couples looking to stay active and occupied on their idyllic island escape. The natural world is a major focus, with a protected marine park surrounding the resort and a series of diving adventures, nature trails and conservation endeavours to enjoy. Other romantic interludes include varied dining locations, peaceful sunset cruises and intimate cookery classes. For downtime, couples can book a Tadau Kaamatan treatment ritual at the spa village or indulge in a spot of Yahai Pupuan stretching exercises.
The Gaya Island Resort Marine Centre, housed at Gaya Island Resort's Tavajun Bay, takes a proactive role in its Three Pillars of Conservation: Turtle Rescue, Coral Reef Restoration and Conservation through Education to better protect marine life and raise awareness for sustainable seafood choices. The programmes were created with the help of leading global Turtle Conservationist and founder of the Marine Research Foundation, Dr Nick Pilcher, and are being implemented by Mr Scott Mayback, the resort's resident Marine Biologist.
The KuRi KuRi half-day kids' programme offers a meal and tailor-made activities and games that nurture creativity and an appreciation of the island’s natural surroundings, whilst the PURE Activity Centre offers an unsupervised outdoor play area, a games room and a wading pool.
