Golf
Designed by Tom Fazio, with Los Peñasquitos Canyon views forming a formidable background, this 18 hole, par 72 golf course offers dramatic elevations, diverse bunkering and lush fairways. Golfers can rent clubs and buggies practice their shots at the driving range, benefit from private instruction and enjoy a host of technologically interpretive tools to improve their game at The Grand Golf Performance Academy. Children age 13 to 17 years can play at half the daily rate, whilst complimentary tee times are available for children aged 12 years and under, when accompanied by an adult (subject to availability).
Luxury Family Holidays
Don stout boots and trek through Los Peñasquitos Canyon with a local naturalist or enjoy a day on the beach with transport, chairs and a picnic provided. Family-friendly activities abound here, including golf, tennis, horse-riding, spa treatments and swimming to underwater music. There's also a programme for younger guests called Explorer's Club, hosting fun stuff indoors and out - video games consoles such as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, traditional games including ping-pong and football, arts and crafts, hula hooping, scavenger hunts, as well as a brilliant, interactive mural of undersea life. A few minutes from the resort along coastal Highway 101, the sandy beaches of Del Mar await. Picture coastal bluffs and rugged cliffs interspersed with scoops of soft, blonde sands and dolphins playing in the surf offshore on occasion. Enjoy swimming, surfing, volleyball and spectacular sunsets melting into the Pacific Ocean. There are grassy, oceanfront parks and ample swish places to shop and dine when such cravings arise, not to mention top-class horse racing, 'where the surf meets the turf' and Del Mar Fairgrounds, famous for San Diego's County Fair.
