Culture & History
First built back in 1963 as the first high-rise hotel on the Sunset Strip, the property has a ultra-cool, rock ‘n’ roll history. Due to its proximity to the area’s famed clubs, Little Richard and Jim Morrison both lived here at one stage, while Led Zeppelin would hire entire floors and ride their motorbikes along the storied hallways. Other legendary rockstar guests included the Rolling Stones (Keith Richard famously dropped a TV out of his room’s window), The Who, Motörhead and Blur. The hotel's décor nods to this playful past, with huge murals of musicians in the lobby, along with musically-inspired art throughout all guest rooms and suites.
City Highlights
The art galleries, legendary music venues, theatres and shops of West Hollywood are truly on your doorstep here, while the hotel is also just a stone’s throw away from the Walk of Fame, Universal Studios Hollywood™, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and more! Even if you choose to just relax at the hotel, you can still enjoy captivating city views from the impressive rooftop swimming pool.
