Adventure
The striking desert scenery in which Amangiri resides is home to a number of trail systems that range from easy to difficult and are well marked and maintained. In addition to the daily complimentary 'taster' hike led by an experienced guide, maps are provided for those guests who choose to explore by themselves. Horse riding tours are also available, with trails to suit all levels of riders. Guests are welcome to explore further afield either alone (hikes can be tailored to guest's interests and range from half day to full day treks) or accompanied by a guide. Amangiri can also arrange trips to nearby national parks, boating trips and scenic flights for a much broader perspective of this incredible state.
Culture & History
At the heart of the Grand Circle and amongst some of continent's most outstanding protected areas, including the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Monument Valley and Bryce Canyon, Amangiri is entrenched with beauty and cultural heritage. Take a trip to the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument with a paleontological interpreter and excavate the Tibbet Spring Bone Bed Quarry, one of the world's richest palaeontology sites, where fossils and dinosaur tracks await. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Navajo as they play host to a range of experiences, from tours of the region, including Monument Valley, to ritual dances and storytelling.
Spa Breaks
At 25,000 square feet, the Aman Spa at Amangiri is practically a destination unto itself. Physically designed to echo and reflect the surrounding canyons and formations, the spa’s holistic approach to wellbeing incorporates elements from the state's native heritage, with treatments based on restoring Hazho, Navajo for beauty, harmony, balance and health. In addition to private and complimentary group yoga sessions, there is a Flotation Room which utilises colour therapy as part of the meditative, sensory experience.
