Dining is an integral part of the camp's activities and guests share their dining experiences in locations that may vary from day to day. Breakfast is served at Nong Yao, the main restaurant, while lunch may be a picnic in the jungle. After late-afternoon activities, partake in a sundowner - thirty minutes of snacks and refreshments - at the riverside stilttop bar while you watch the sky turn golden. Dinner is a special event in itself; it may be a barbecue under the stars, a five-course formal meal or a dinner by campfire at Elephant Camp.
Wildlife Encounters
No visit to this scenic part of Thailand would be complete without an up-close elephant encounter with rescued elephants. Visiting the adjacent sanctuary and accompanied by the elephant's own Mahout, you can see elephants up close and walk through the surrounding jungle together. Guests can join the Mahouts as they care for the elephants, watch them bathe in the river and feed them. This is a truly memorable Thai experience.
Culture & History
The Golden Triangle is a magical place where the misty mountains present some of Thailand's most historic, oldest civilisations. The 'Golden Triangle' gained its name from the region's historical connection with the growth and production of opium - the area was the centre of Thailand's booming opium trade. The Thailand government eradicated all opium production in 1902 and today, the fields are home to tea plantations and fruit-laden orchards. To learn more about the interesting, dark history of the region, visit the Hall of Opium museum.
Spa Breaks
At The Spa at Four Seasons Tented Camp, wonder-working treatments rejuvenate your body and bathe your spirit in perfect serenity. Amidst the bamboo forests of the Golden Triangle are two open-air salas featuring double treatment rooms, spa beds and a bath/shower area. With their rustic design and use of natural materials, the salas blend in with their surroundings. In this environment of simple luxury, traditional Thai massages and innovative rituals, assisted by the healing power of mountain botanicals and warming spices, guide you on a restorative journey.
