Location and transfer
The lodge lies approximately a 20-minute drive from the Arathusa Airstip within the reserve, which can be accessed by daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg or Nelspruit, or by private charter.
Three 950m² bushveld villas - Mvula Bush House, Karula Bush House and Mapogo Bush House - blend beautifully into the natural surroundings, with understated interiors boasting raw timbers, gold accents, chunky woven rugs and local African accents. The interior company formed a partnership with South Africa’s leading emerging and established artists, resulting in a wealth of unique artwork adorning the villas. Each guesthouse comprises two lounges (a formal lounge and an entertainment lounge), a dining area, outdoor boma, wine room and heated swimming pool, as well as four private guest suites – each with king beds, decking, dressing rooms, sitting areas, double rain showers and bathtubs overlooking Sabi Sands.
Join your dedicated field guide and tracker as you head into the spectacular Sabi Sand Game Reserve on board your private game viewing vehicle - complete with an electronic engine, individually controlled heated seats and access to a DSLR camera with a 500 zoom lens. This expansive area - adjacent to the Kruger National Park - is renowned for its Big Five game viewing - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo - as well as countless reptiles, birds and more mammals. A number of endangered species have also made the reserve their home, and you may well be given a rare glimpse of Honey Badgers, Ground Hornbills and Wild Dogs. Twice-daily game drives are included in your stay, with either a sunrise or sunset drive, as well as the opportunity for stargazing, while bush walks can also be enjoyed.
Dining & Gourmet
Each Bush House is inclusive of the dedicated service of a chef, who will create exceptional cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, alongside specially selected South African wines and beverages. Enjoy in your private dining area, or take gourmet picnics with you as you head into the bushveld.
Private, spacious and equipped with their very own private swimming pools, the Bush Houses are ideal for a family safari adventure. Special safari activities can be arranged for children, while babysitting is complimentary.
