The name Al Bandar translates as 'The Town' and the architecture of the hotel has been carefully designed to echo that of old Muscat; buildings of various heights feature a variety of ornate balconies or terraces, all of which are sea-facing. Adventure zone closure 10-Dec-2023 to 31-Dec-2099 The Omani Heritage Village at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, comprising of the Al Mazaar Souq and the Adventure Zone for children, is currently undergoing essential infrastructure developments. There is no reopening date currently, however guests can continue the kid's facilities including: the lazy river, cool-zone (kids club), the longest-stretch of beach in Muscat, the splash pad, an all-inclusive kids-friendly experience with Habibi the Turtle mascot, as well as a host of recreational activities.
