Auckland has a strong Maori heritage, which is still evident across the city, as are the scars from over fifty erupted volcanoes that dominate the terrain. Once in Auckland, ascent The Sky Tower for various viewing platforms and a revolving restaurant, or keep your feet firmly on the ground and head towards The Auckland Domain. This park area is best visited in the summer when free concerts are held. For something more easy-going, take a trip to Mission Bay and Auckland's finest sandy shoreline, or stay in the inner city and venture to Queen Street for lots of retail therapy.
