Kayaks and paddleboards also provide the opportunity to explore Helena Bay from its fascinating coastline. Guided tours of the onsite farm include feeding the goats and donkeys, whilst learning about the property’s sustainability amid breath taking views. Bespoke helicopter tours are available on request to showcase New Zealand’s scenery and explore the highlights of Northland, including Cape Reinga, Paihia and a unique view of the iconic ‘Hole in the Rock’- Motu Kokako. Helena Bay’s luxury vessel is perfect for exploring the coastline and enjoying the fishing opportunities, as well as whale and dolphin encounters.
Dining & Gourmet
Helena Bay’s Head Chef Michele Martino hails from Michelin starred ‘Ristorante Don Alfonso 1890’, in southern Italy, bringing an exquisite fine dining experience to New Zealand’s Northland. Offering an ‘estate to plate’ philosophy, the daily menus celebrate the organic ingredients of Helena Bay: the fruit, vegetables and herbs are homegrown, whilst the meat is sourced from the on-site farm, creating fresh gourmet dishes. The outstanding wine cellar houses over 2000 bottles of carefully selected New Zealand wine, which served by the Wine Manager, are the perfect companions to this fine dining experience. A choice of venue creates unique culinary events- guests can choose from glass fronted dining areas with stunning views, the beautiful terrace, candlelit meals by log fires or picnic on the private beaches.
