Safari
If your stay coincides with the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra (usually July to November) then you are in one of the best locations as, for years, the Great Migration has crossed the Talek River, close to the camp’s dining area. It’s a spectacular event as the wildebeest swim for their lives across the crocodile-infested rivers. Outside of the migration, there is of course still plenty to see on thrilling game drives, and it’s not uncommon to spot wildlife in camp. Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and buffalo can often be seen and, on rare occasions, serval and caracals. For something a little different, xperienced riders can enjoy the thrill of safari by horseback.
Culture & History
Learn more about the traditional Maasai way of life with a visit to a local village. These villages are home to some of the Rekero guides who will escort you to ensure that the experience is personal yet unobtrusive.
Luxury Family Holidays
Children over the age of five years are welcome at Rekero and there are two family tents that can sleep a family of up to five. Private vehicles need to be booked if there are children under the age of twelve years, but this will give you complete flexibility on safari times.
