Culture & History
With golden fields of wheat in the north and sandy coves and beaches in the south, Puglia is a beautifully diverse region, filled with well-preserved culture and historical imprints. Outside of the luxurious Masseria San Domenico's estate, venturing into this rural area will uncover some well-hidden gems of Italy. Along the way, notice the roads lined with awe-inspiring Baroque buildings and extravagant churches. No different than any other Italian region, food is prominent amid the cultural activities on offer - enjoy everything from traditional wine-tasting, to a pasta-making masterclass.
Luxury Beach
For a haven of relaxation along the shores of the Adriatic coast, head to one of two beautiful white-sand beaches, exclusively reserved for Masseria San Domenico guests. San Domenico a Mare Beach and La Fonte Beach offer easy access to the sea and a section of secluded white sands for guests to luxuriate upon, as well as a restaurant and bar providing plenty of light refreshments.
Spa Breaks
There are eight thalassotherapy rooms where thalassotherapists are on-hand to administer treatments aimed at purifying the body. The essential element of thalassotherapy is sea water which is rich in minerals and trace elements and the water at this spa is drawn from 400 metres below sea level, purified by filters and heated. Mineral-rich seaweed is also used in many sea water hydromassages and compresses. In addition, there is also a range of traditional and Oriental massages, as well as aromatic colour showers, Kneipp routes and a sauna and a steam room.
Golf
Rated amongst the best in Italy, guests at Masseria San Domenico can enjoy discounted rates at the beautiful Mediterranean-inspired San Domenico Golf Club. This 18-hole, championship course overlooks the sparkling waters of the Adriatic Sea, as well as boasting 6,300 metres of lush greens, including strategic bunkers and definitive fairways. The on-site clubhouse is idyllic for a well-earned break, featuring a bar, restaurant, pro-shop and reading room.
