Beds - whether double or twin - face towards the veranda with views over the plains. Amenities include a writing desk, universal plug points, and an en suite bathroom with a flushing toilet, twin vanities, a walk-in shower and environmentally friendly toiletries.
Safari
The dreamy desert is home to a wealth of wonderful wildlife throughout the year and twice daily game-drives in open vehicles follow the movement of the animals. During the summer rains (December to April) the desert bursts into life with springbok and gemsbok gathering to graze, often shadowed by the mighty black-maned Kalahari lion. In winter (May to October), the dry desert allows for easier sightings of the smaller mammals such as the honey badger, black-backed jackal and the Cape fox. The Kalahari is also home to around 220 bird species, making it paradise for bird watchers.
Hotel Experiences
Above each tent at Kalahari Plains is a purpose-built platform for sleeping out under the stars. It's a truly mesmerising experience lying there, listening to the sounds of wildlife and staring up at the stars that glitter the African night sky. In addition, the Baswara San Bushmen are an integral part to camp life and you can join them on a walk in the desert as they explain their culture and beliefs, as well as how they survive in this harsh landscape.
