Safari
This area comprises a superb variety of habitats, ranging from permanent waterways and lagoons on one extreme, to thick Kalahari soils on the other. The wildlife at Jao Camp depends largely on the water levels in the area at the time of your visit. The lagoons are home to hippos and crocodiles and the permanent waters attract large numbers of waterfowl. From October to March the waters subside and the enormous open plains become the highlight. This is when the game-viewing is at its best. Lions, cheetahs and leopards are plentiful, while Tsessebes, red lechwes, zebras and wildebeest dot the floodplains. During the winter months, the water levels at Jao Camp rise and the savannah areas become covered with water. The focus then switches to the water activities, with game-drives available on the larger islands.
Spa Breaks
Jao Spa offers massage treatments, facials, manicures, pedicures and men's grooming. There is also a delightful relaxation area.
