Romance
Romance fills the air of this lush, languid isle, encircled by tranquil lagoons and rolling surf. A destination that's postcard-perfect in terms of scenery, off-the-beaten-track from most tourists and boasting a room count of just nine slick suites, the lodge is designed for carefree lounging indoors and out, whether snorkelling from the beach at Lovers Bay or snoozing on a supersized banquette around the horizon pool. Idyllic days transform into idyllic nights of sundowners, canapés and gourmet, Pacific-themed, menus. With a star-studded sky and perhaps a moonlit sea, this sub-tropical retreat promises an amazing romantic interlude.
Scuba Diving
Explore the world's most southern coral reef, a technicolour world of flora and fauna amid caves, trenches and volcanic drop-offs. Thanks to five big currents converging at the island, the richness of underwater life is superb and you're likely to encounter schools of Kingfish, Bluefish, Surgeonfish, Silver Drummer, Amberjacks, Japanese Boar Fish, as well as some fish species found nowhere else. Other creatures include turtles, Stingrays, Spanish Dancers and Galapagos Whaler Sharks. Popular dive sites are Admiralty Islands, Malabar Landslide and Balls Pyramid, featuring walls of fish and the elusive Ballina Angelfish - a highpoint for experienced divers.
Luxury Beach
This exclusive island hideaway welcomes a handful of guests to linger and lounge on its small, secret beach at Lovers Bay, watched over by the matronly peaks of Gower and Lidgbird. The whole ethos here is 'barefoot luxury', something Capella Lodge excels in delivering in copious amounts. Relax on the silky, milky-white sands and soak up the rays, then head into the crystalline seas with snorkel and flippers for a first-hand glimpse of Lord Howe's fascinating marine life. The beach is a paradise for castaways, the kind that makes you pinch yourself to check you're not dreaming.
Honeymoons
This paradise island is perfect for honeymoons and Lidgbird Pavilion is a romantic, luxurious suite to reside in during your stay.
Spa & Wellness
There is a small spa offering treatments either indoors or outdoors in the pavilion. The Australian spa range, Li'Tya, is used, whilst treatments include 'Dreaming', an indulgent three-hour-long spa experience, and the 'Sacred Stone Therapy', which utilises heated basalt stones sourced from the island's beaches. Continue your journey of relaxation and wellness in the enchanting horizon pool.
In Addition
Glass-bottom boat tours and glass-bottom kayaks offer the chance to view the inhabitants of the reef, or you can take a boat trip around the island. Surfing, snorkelling, diving and fishing are also available on the island.
