Clayoquot Wilderness Resort Stories
Inspired by the 19th century Great Camps, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is a childhood wish come true. A member of Relais & Châteaux, the camp has just twenty white canvas, prospector-style, luxury guest tents sitting under the canopy of the rainforest and along the water’s edge. Built on raised wooden platforms, each is furnished with handmade Adirondeck furniture, period accessories and queen-size beds with down duvets, while cedarwood boardwalks discreetly link guests to the two Lounge Tents − a Gentlemen's Club-style games tent with a billiards table, chess set and comfortable seating, along with an art tent, replete with art materials for guests to use − and the rustic-style dining room, serving the freshest local produce for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additionally, there's a bijou spa offering holistic treatments and featuring cedar hot tubs and a sauna, a yoga studio and a fitness room.
Wilderness activities are extensive and highly personalised at the resort, and the camp’s Activity Director will design your adventures to be as active or relaxed as you would wish them to be day − taking into consideration important elements such as the weather, animal sightings and tidal charts − whether you're travelling as a family, a group of friends or a couple. 'Inaccessible by car' provides some indication of just how remote this incredible resort is, encircled by soaring peaks and inky-blue waters. Such scenery is part of UNESCO Clayoquot Biosphere Reserve, gateway to umpteen outdoor adventures.
