    DAY 1-3 DETAILS ACCOMMODATION

    After checking in, head to the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, which hosted events for the 1952 Winter Olympics and discover 4,000 years of skiing history at the Ski Museum. The following day, continue exploring Norway’s capital. The hundreds of life-sized human figures by native artist Gustav Vigeland in Vigeland Park are well-worth a visit, as well as the world’s best-preserved Viking longships at the Viking Ship Museum. You can also hear about adventurer Thor Heyerdahl’s history-making seafaring expeditions from a close family connection, at the Kon-Tiki Museum.

    Catch a train to Myrdal to board the Flåm Railway – one of the steepest normal-gauge railroads in the world – for an unforgettable ride through valleys, tunnels and past waterfalls, to the fjord village of Flåm. From here, transfer to the historical Fretheim Hotel.

    DAY 3-5 DETAILS ACCOMMODATION

    The small villages of Flåm, Aurland and Undredal sit at the end of Aurlandsfjord. Explore them by visiting a shoe factory in Aurland village – birthplace of the penny loafer, get a different perspective of Aurlandsfjord from the dramatic Stegastein viewing platform which floats 2,000ft above the fjord and visit Scandinavia’s smallest stave church in Undredal. Then, board a boat for a cruise across two spectacular fjords – Aurlandsfjord and Naerøyfjord, which together with Geirangerfjorden is a World Heritage Site.

    Transfer to Hotel Union, Geiranger. On the way, stop en route at the Norwegian Glacier Museum and the newly opened, 4,900-foot-high Geiranger Skywalk, the highest scenic viewpoint overlooking a fjord and glacier in Europe.

    After arriving in Geiranger, check into Hotel Union, overlooking the deep blue UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord. The following morning, enjoy a private visit to the Norwegian Fjord Centre before it opens to the public, perusing exhibits to learn how the dramatic fjord landscape was created.Then, set out by ferry for an unforgettable cruise on the World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjorden, a ten-mile passage lined with sheer rock walls and waterfalls. Disembark at the old Viking port of Hellesylt for a drive along the winding mountainsides of Trollstigen - the Troll’s road.

    Transfer to Andalsnes and board the Rauma Railway. Take in stunning scenery through panoramic windows on a journey between Åndalsnes and Dombås. In Dombås, switch trains for the ride to the city of Trondheim. Disembark here and transfer to the Britannia Hotel.

Spend your final afternoon at leisure, then gather for a traditional farewell dinner of delcious Norwegian dishes.
