Offering charming neighbourhoods, great restaurants and a wealth of alfresco activities, Vancouver is a cosmopolitan city that promises to delight. A guided tour of the city will showcase its many highlights – including the glorious greenery of Stanley Park and the famous Seawall – before a welcome reception and dinner to meet your fellow travellers.
Transfer to the station and board the Rocky Mountaineer Train.
Absorb awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Canadian landscape as you journey towards the Jasper National Park on board the Rocky Mountaineer train, gazing out of the luxurious glass-dome coach, while savouring gourmet cuisine. Stop in Kamloops for a night, before continuing east through the Canadian Rockies.
Disembark in Jasper and transfer to Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
Breakfast & Lunch
Spend a night in the magical Alpine town of Jasper, the gateway to the delights of Jasper National Park – including hiking trails, mountain biking routes, pioneering history and wildlife encounters aplenty. Keep your eyes peeled for moose, elk, caribou and black and grizzly bears as you travel to Maligne Lake, gliding across the waters by boat. The next day, float along the scenic Athabasca River, or board the Jasper SkyTram to soar over 7,000 feet above sea level. An optional hike to soak up the scenery of Jasper is followed by a group dinner.
Transfer to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Banff National Park. On the way, you’ll travel along the scenic Icefields Parkway and stop at the Columbia Icefield for an unforgettable guided trek across the Athabasca Glacier, getting an up-close look at its fascinating geology.
Perhaps Banff National Park’s greatest allure, Lake Louise’s jaw-droppingly turquoise waters are surrounded by an amphitheatre of chiselled mountains that house scenic hiking trails and grizzly bears. From here, explore Banff and Yoho National Parks. Hike to pristine lakes through trails of wildflowers, including Moraine Lake and Emerald Lake. Stop for a seriously scenic picnic lunch, before viewing the historic Spiral Tunnels of the Canadian Pacific Railway – dating back to 1909. Head to the Yoho National Park Visitor Centre, enjoying the fascinating interactive exhibits about the Burgess Shale fossil deposit, one of the most important ever discovered! A final farewell dinner with the group ends your awe-inspiring adventures in Canada.
Transfer to Calgary airport for your flight to the UK.
