The capital and cultural core of the Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Mai is located on the banks of the Ping River. It is the principal religious centre of northern Thailand, home to many striking temples and monasteries. From the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, join an all-encompassing city tour, visiting Wat Pra Singh, a complex housing several buildings of striking architecture. You will also have the opportunity to attend the Monk Blessing Ceremony, a sacred ritual during which monks chant their mantras and sprinkle holy water. After a lunch of Khao Soy noodles from a local restaurant, an afternoon drive takes you up the slopes of Doi Suthep to visit a Meo hilltribe, observing their simple way of life and striking traditional dress. You will then travel along northern Thailand's mountain scenery, visiting the 600-year-old Doi Suthep Temple, home to relics of Lord Buddha.

Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle

Completely landlocked, what it lacks in beaches, Chiang Rai (Chiang Mai’s quieter neighbour) makes up for in scenery and a laid back ambience. The small but delightful city is also close to the breathtaking Golden Triangle, the former centre of the world’s opium trade and a region of mist-topped mountains, herds of elephants, lush jungle and rolling rice paddies. Set in the midst of Thailand’s exotic bamboo jungle, check in for two nights (on all-inclusive basis) at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle. This enchanting resort invites each of its guests to participate in a wildlife experience like no other: a close-up elephant encounter. You can learn basic elephant care, watch them bathe and walk beside them in the Thai jungle. The rich jungle environment also plays host to diverse birdlife and makes for great photography. Please note that activities here are by your own arrangement.
