Nestled in the Sacred Valley, the stunning Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado is set against a backdrop of mountains and the Urubamba River. It’s the perfect base for exploring this stunning part of Peru, which is hallmarked by striking lakes, gorges, traditional towns and views of the Andes Mountains. A guided tour will take you to the town of Ollantaytambo, which is one of The Americas’ oldest settlements that has permanently been inhabited, where there are fine Inca ruins of one of the civilisation’s most important fortress and temple. Hacienda Huayoccari is another ‘must see’ attraction of The Sacred Valley and here you will have lunch and discover a superb collection of colonial and folk art. Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado offers a variety of hikes, mountain-biking and horse-riding to explore your surroundings even further, but if you prefer to unwind, how about the Sacred Valley massage or feeding the hotel's baby alpacas? Or, settle in a sun lounger overlooking the river, cool off in the swimming pool or take a tour of the hotel’s grounds with the Head Gardener.
