In the evening, take up your dinner reservations at either Central or Maido restaurants. Both highly acclaimed, Central delivers a fusion of world flavours crafted from native Peruvian ingredients, while Maido serves a variety of sushi and other Japanese dishes infused with Peruvian flair. After dinner, return to Hotel B to end your final night in Lima.

Board Aria Amazon at approximately 6pm and settle into your room and surroundings before sitting down for a welcome dinner created by Executive Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino from one of Lima’s best restaurants, Malabar. Sample some fine South American wine alongside the locally sources menu before resting for the night in your beautifully designed suite; with fantastic floor-to-ceiling windows and a sumptuous king-size bed, prepare to see the Amazon in the finest luxury.

Day 1 – After watching the sun rise over the river as you enjoy the delectable breakfast buffet, join your skiff excursion along the Ucayali River or Yanallpa River, where you will observe the vibrant plant and wildlife. Return to your skiff later that day to search for nocturnal wildlife that emerges as dusk falls and make the most of the unpolluted skies to gaze at the stars.

Day 2 – Rise early to enjoy a picnic breakfast and be serenaded by the morning jungle symphony before fishing along the waters of the Pacaya River. After lunch, venture out on skiffs to spot pink river dolphins.

Day 3 – In the morning, choose between a jungle walk, canoeing, kayaking or swimming, depending on your interests, or simply relax on board the boat. If weather permits in the afternoon, take a walk in the San Jose flooded forest to see the giant water lilies or visit an Amazonian village for insight into how the local people live. Back on board, meet the crew who has worked behind the scenes to make your cruise so special, and enjoy a final farewell dinner.

Day 4 – Spend your final morning in the Amazon visiting the local marketplace before returning to the boat for a final time to enjoy breakfast. After disembarking, visit the Manatee Rescue Center and San Juan craft market before heading to the airport.

Arrive at the beautifully serene Sol y Luna and rest to ensure you acclimatise to the altitude. After a night’s sleep, rise on your first morning for a guided visit to the town and Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo. Next, visit the organic farm at the charming El Albergue hotel, where you will learn how to prepare a Pachamanca, or ‘earth oven’. While your traditional lunch cooks in your creation, explore the rest of the farm before enjoying the fruit of your labour. Finish off your first full day at the town of Chinchero, where the hillside terraces and village boasts magnificent views of the mountains.

On your second day in Sacred Valley, visit the enigmatic Inca terraces of Moray and small colonial village of Maras. Stopping for a picnic lunch, be amazed at the pre-Columbian salt pans before walking down to the Urubamba River and returning to the hotel for a relaxing evening.

On your third day, chose from a range of activities that suit your interests. Adventurous types may wish to head outdoors for a two-hour horse-riding excursion with a world-renowned Peruvian Paso Horse, venturing from the Hacienda Huayoccari to the Vilcanota River through quaint towns. You may also take up stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking across the lake.

For a more cultural option, spend the day with local traditional weavers to learn about their craft, or take a guided visit to Pisac ruins and marketplace, one of the most important Inca sites in the Urubamba Valley.

Return to Sol y Luna for your final night in Sacred Valley.
