Itinerary Highlights

The three lodges in our expertly tailored six-night itinerary are, arguably, the most sophisticated and luxurious in all of Namibia and can be found in some of the country's most incredible locations; Etosha National Park, Hartmann Valley and Sossusvlei. Each stylish lodge is intimate in size and boasts no more than eleven luxury suites, ensuring guests will enjoy an exclusive stay with excellent personal service from its teams of staff. Superb cuisine and wine is a given throughout this itinerary and, despite the remoteness of each camp, facilities are excellent and activities are wide-ranging, including open 4 x 4 game-drives, guided nature walks, visits to a Himba village (if the nomadic tribe is in the area at the time), excursions to see canyons and salt pans, along with romantic lamplit dinners and star-gazing from the incredibly romantic vantage point of the 'Star Bed' located on the roof of each of Little Kulala's luxury suites. For a peaceful safari experience within an awe-inspiring selection of landscapes, Namibia is hard to beat.

Namibia enjoys, on average, three-hundred days of sunshine a year. The most popular time to visit is between April and June, though it is worth bearing in mind that during the summer months (November to February) the country bursts into life. The winter months (July to September) are the coolest months.

Fly from London, via Johannesburg, to Windhoek

Fly via a light aircraft to Little Kulala

Stay at Little Kulala

Located in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve, bordering Namib Naukluft Park in Sossusvlei, this special retreat nestles in isolated splendour. Amongst the landscape, you'll discover sand dunes that are precisely sculpted by the elements, along with evocatively named vleis and desert-adapted wildlife that makes the landscape its home, including ostriches, hyaenas, Bat-eared Foxes and Anchieta's Dune Lizard. The spectacular Little Kulala's remote, unspoilt location, provokes a sense of peace and awe in everyone who stays here. Enjoy massages on the outdoor deck, nature-drives, walking along the Black Mountain Trails, visits to see the Sossusvlei salt pans and Sesriem’s Canyon, as well as the famed Sundowner Tour, one of the best scenic safaris in the Namib Desert.

Light aircraft transfer from Little Kulala to Ongava

Stay at Little Ongava

Little Ongava borders Etosha National Park, a vast, arid landscape in northern Namibia. An important wildlife sanctuary that provides excellent game viewing opportunities  especially in the dry season of June to November  the park takes its name from the world-famous salt-pans. While there is a distinct lack of vegetation in the dry regions, a good deluge of rain can attract over a million flamingos to the salty plains, while broad swathes of mopane, tree canopies, shrub savannah and acacia-strewn plains reside around the edges. While here, you can expect to encounter elephants, giraffes, White Rhinos, lions, antelopes and, if you're lucky, leopards and cheetahs. The park also has one of the largest concentrations of the rare Black Rhino in the world, while its birdlife is fantastic and encompasses species blessed with such wonderful names as the Crimson-breasted Shrike, Bare-cheeked babbler and the Sociable Weaver.

During your stay at Little Ongava there will be opportunities for you to enjoy gamedrives in open 4x4 vehicles, Black and White Rhino-tracking (for guests over sixteen years old) and guided nature walks. The number of animals and birdlife here is considerable, so if you’re a nature-lover you’ve really hit the jackpot. It’s also a relaxing place and the lounge area provides an idyllic spot from which to survey the passing wildlife and settle down with a book.

Light aircraft transfer from Little Ongava to Serra Cafema

Stay at Serra Cafema

Today, you’ll be heading to quiet Serra Cafema, the most remote camp in southern Africa which resides in a lush, watery oasis in the desert, providing a stark contrast to the scenery found at Little Ongava. Here, the lunar-like terrain comprises rugged mountains, the sand dunes of the Namib Desert and Albida trees dotted along the riverbank. In this region, you will come across Nile Crocodiles, oryxs, gemsbock, springbok, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, Desert Chameleons and some characteristic bird species.

While here, you’ll have the chance to go on a 4x4 Land Rover excursion, boating on the Kunene River, enjoy an eco-sensitive, guided quad-bike excursion or a full-day trip to Marienfluss Valley, complemented by a delicious picnic lunch. If you’re fortunate enough to be staying here when the Himba tribe is in the area, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit them in their village to learn about their lives and culture. Back at Serra Cafema, you can enjoy a romantic, lamplit dinner on the banks of the river and take a refreshing dip in its swimming pool.

Fly back to Windhoek, via Johannesburg, for your flights home

Sleeping out, on a star bed, under the stars was a magical experience! The clear night skies create wonderful conditions for stargazing, plus the gigantic sand dunes are simply awe-inspiring. I loved climbing the dramatic dunes and took a multitude of photographs - which I'll always treasure.
