This brilliant 14-night journey begins in the ancient city of Anuradphapura with a guided tour and trip to the Sigiryiya Rock Fortress, before continuing by train to the stunning World Heritage-listed Central Highlands, at which you can enjoy a visit to a working Ceylon Tea factory and a stay in a restored colonial era tea planter residence. Next, set out on a 4WD game drive in the wildlife-filled Yala National Park, before five nights unwinding on Sri Lanka's southern coastline and a guided walk around Galle Fort.

During your time here, enjoy a tour of the ancient city with an expert local guide, before heading to the rocky peak of Mihintale Rock, exploring the Kaludiya Pokuna Cave Complex and enjoying meditation with a local monk in a 3,000-year-old cave. You will also have chance to climb the striking Sigirya Rock Fortress, a hike that takes between 1.5 and 2.5 hours with several highlights along the way.
