Take an unforgettable trip through the game reserve on an intimate guided game-drive and interact with the incredible wildlife to create memories to last a lifetime. Whether you choose an early-morning or evening drive, examine the land in search of the 'Big Five' or witness the birds of prey in the safety of an open game vehicle. Shamwari is passionate about wildlife conservation, so join them for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to engage and educate yourself with one of their awareness centres. Take a trip to the Ian Player Rhino Centre to discover the stark truths about the plight of the depleting rhino species and what they do to help or visit the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary, which provides public awareness and rescue efforts over the circumstances of confining wild animals in impoverished, captive environments. Encounter the passionate on-site vets at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, who care and treat injured animals that are then released back into the wild.
Shamwari Game Reserve is located in a malaria-free area and welcomes children of all ages at its Riverdene Lodge, where activities might include social events, sports, arts and cultural activities, supervised by the lodge's Children's Coordinator who, upon guests' arrival, will discuss activity options, taking into consideration the size of the family, the children's ages and also the weather. Children are also welcome to participate in Shamwari's 'Kids on Safari' programme. Children's menus are also available. Sarili Lodge is an alternative option for families, but it does not have a dedicated Children's Coordinator.
