After a transfer of just twenty minutes from the airport, Lisa and Jacquie arrived at the stunning Porto Zante Villas And Spa which they say is pretty much hidden away, offering guests total privacy and a real sense of ‘getting away from it all’. The resort is a gorgeous boutique villa complex right by the Ionian Sea, with just six delightful private villas complete with private pool, and offering one to four bedrooms.
It really does feel like you’re staying at an exclusive club, especially as there are a host of hotel-style facilities to hand. Select a treatment from the Thalassotherapy spa menu to enjoy in the comfort of your own villa, or if you’re feeling more energetic there is gym equipment available for hire. Water sports and boat hire can also be arranged and you will be collected for your activity from Porto Zante Villas And Spa’s jetty. The girls recommend a boat trip along the coast, calling at one of the local restaurants for a laid-back lunch.
Lisa and Jacquie say that this luxury villa resort is particularly suited to couples and families looking for excellent service. In-villa dining is available; perfect for a romantic meal for two or a midnight snack. Alternatively, the beachfront Club House Restaurant is excellent for exquisite Mediterranean cuisine. The resort will happily organise a taxi to a local restaurant too and Lisa and Jacquie suggest sampling the harbourside restaurants in Zakynthos town.
If you’re travelling with family, some of the villas inter-connect, which is great if you have grandparents or a Nanny travelling with you. And, when it comes to keeping children entertained, there is plenty to choose from. Of course, there is the sandy beach to play on and the sparkling sea to dip in and out of, but there are special children's activities too and the Concierge can arrange for children to visit the nearby water park and be accompanied until it’s time to return to the hotel – perfect for parents seeking a little alone time.
