Culture & History
Boasting a fascinating history, eclectic Goa showcases a unique blend of Indian and Portuguese cultures. Arriving in Goa in 1510, the Portuguese mark is still evident in Old Goa, with the intricate baroque architecture, whitewashed churches, crumbling forts, colourful Catholic ceremonies, and the stunning cathedrals of Old Goa - including the striking Basilica of Bom Jesus, famous throughout the Roman Catholic world. The Tanshikar Spice Farm and Anjuna Flea Market offer a taste of vibrant Goan culture, whilst back at the hotel, the interactive Goan cuisine workshops allow you to create the region's authentic traditional flavours alongside expert, local chefs.
