The new Six Senses Spa’s Yogic Sleep programme at Six Senses Laamu , aims to help guests improve the quality of their sleep through relaxing techniques taught by Sleep Ambassadors, Piyada Phongphaet and Vinod Narayanan. Piyada has extensive experience in energy and sound healing, a Diploma in Physiology and practices Thai, Aromatherapy and Swedish massage, as well as Reiki and Singing Bowl Sound Healing sessions at the resort. Vinod holds a Diploma in Ayurvedic Healthcare Practice and Panchakarma, and is an expert in healing, nutrition and yoga. The programme begins with a wellness consultation, identifying any fitness, nutritional or stress-related deficiencies that may be preventing a good night’s sleep, to create a tailored series of classes, treatments, nutritional advice and tips. The Sleep Ambassadors also make sure that guest villas are ideal for falling asleep, from the ideal temperature to turn down service including essential oil burners being lit and herbal tea served. Additionally, the programme helps enhance the attention span and improve creativity and overall mood, which is achieved with a series of yoga techniques such as yoga nidra (yogi sleep) and pranayama (breathing exercises), guided meditation and traditional ayurvedic and holistic treatments.
