Elegant Resorts is delighted to announce that Etihad Airways plans to launch its luxury Residence − the world’s first and only three-room private luxury suite in the sky − on its A380 London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi route from December 2014. The Residence is designed for up to two guests travelling together and has been created by leading interior designers and hospitality experts to offer the most discerning travellers the ultimate luxury flying experience. Measuring 125ft², The Residence will feature a living room with a luxurious Poltrona Frau leather double-seat sofa with ottoman, two dining tables, a chilled drinks cabinet and 32-inch flat-screen television; along with a bedroom with a double bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and choice of pillows, as well as a separate en suite shower room with toiletries and bathrobes. This haven of tranquillity also comes with a dedicated Etihad Butler, (a first time in the airline industry), who will be on-hand to ensure all arrangements are in place and plan both the in-flight and après-flight itinerary according to personal preferences. An in-flight Chef is also available to prepare meals from a range of gourmet menu options or create your favourite dish.
In addition, Etihad Airways will also introduce its First Apartment in December. Also, available on the A380, it’s set to revolutionise First Class. More than a seat, the First Apartment provides a living space that’s spacious enough to walk around in! It’s upholstered with the finest Poltrona Frau leather and features a wide armchair and an ottoman that opens out into an 81-inch long bed. There is also an adjustable 24-inch flat-screen television, which can be viewed from the armchair or while relaxing in bed, together with a vanity cabinet with ample lighting and space for your personal belongings, a chilled drinks cabinet and a wardrobe. And, if you’re travelling with a partner, the divider between Apartments can be lowered to join rooms, if you wish. Guests may also make use of the showers in the First Class to freshen up before arrival.
And, the First Suite will be available on Etihad’s B787 aircraft. Each First Suite has a personal wardrobe, chilled drinks cabinet and enough space to entertain another guest if required.
