Langkawi Cable Car and SkyBridge
Offering truly dazzling views over the island’s 450 million-year-old Machinang mountain range and dense rainforest, the Langkawi SkyCab cablecar is located on the north west coast of the island and soars up to 708m above sea level. Here, you can also find the 125 metre-long SkyBridge, suspended by a single pylon between two striking mountain tops.
Langkawi’s interiors and coasts are home to a wealth of diverse wildlife. Kilim Geoforest Park, located in the north of the island, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, characterised by impressive limestone formations, enchanting mangrove forests and tranquil lagoons. Kayak through the rivers or join a boat tour, possibly spotting sea otters, kingfishers, sea eagles, swimming macaques and bats. Our featured luxury hotels here often host wildlife-focused activities – including The Datai Langkawi, home to a dedicated Nature Centre and offering naturalist-led trails through the rainforest. The snorkelling and diving in Langkawi is also exceptional.
A perfect picture of paradise, the breathtaking beaches of Langkawi flaunt powder-fine sand fringed by swaying coconut palms and lapped by the teal-coloured sea. On the north west of the island, Teluk Datai Beach - overlooked by luxury property The Datai Langkawi - has previously been ranked in National Geographic's 'Top Ten Beaches in the World'. Four Seasons Resort Langkawi nestles on the pristine Tanjung Rhu Beach, while The Ritz Carlton Langkawi flaunts a private stretch of powdery sand on the east coast of the island. Of course, there are plenty more coves and sandy stretches to explore around the island, offering relaxation, watersports and snorkeling.
While the natural delights of Langkawi are its greatest allure, the island is also home to the exceptional Els Club Teluk Datai, an 18-hole, par 72 championship course designed by golfing legend Ernie Els. Enjoy world-class golf backed by even more incredible views of the Machincang mountains and the Andaman Sea, as well as the local wildlife (particularly macaques) that often explore the course.
