Sundowners St. Regis Mauritius Resort-style
Product Manager for the Indian Ocean, Tara Taylor, and Travel Consultants Dale Harris and Paul Galloway returned from Mauritius – their first trip all together – where they soon bonded over their love of fine food and drink. During their many and varied travels they’ve become accustomed to fabulous gourmet experiences and they couldn’t wait to share their Mauritian highlights.
No 1. Sundowners St. Regis Mauritius-style
At number one, our trio recall their time spent sipping Champagne and devouring delicious canapés aboard the St Regis 1 – the plush boat belonging to The St. Regis Mauritius Resort. They toasted their trip whilst enjoying a cruise along the south west coast where they watched the sun set over the sparkling ocean – pure magic!
No 2. More Champagne!
Tara, Paul and Dale can’t speak highly enough about Jordal, the wonderful Sommelier at Constance Le Prince Maurice, who made their time at the resort really special. Always the perfect host, he invited Tara to ‘sabre’ open a bottle of Champagne – a task she’s glad to say she succeeded in – before they all settled down for a fascinating introduction to the world of Champagne and wine.
No 3. Private Dining On Ilot Mangenie
Next on the list is dining on Ilot Mangenie – the pretty private island belonging to Le Touessrok. After just a six-minute boat transfer across the pristine waters, a very helpful member of staff met them with cold towels and even cleaned their sunglasses, before they were seated at Crusoe’s Restaurant where they were taken care of brilliantly by the charming, Dabi – one of the resort’s longest serving members of staff. The lunch was packed with deliciously fresh flavours and the setting is idyllic, with the white, near-deserted beaches excellent for walking off a few calories afterwards.
No 4. Italian Cuisine At Four Seasons Resort Mauritius At Anahita
Last, but by no means least, is dinner at Acquapazza, the resort’s Italian restaurant. It’s a real treat and we're told that missing the opportunity to sample Chef Fabio’s Vincisgrassi Lasagna, in particular, would be a real shame!
