The best time to visit Cuba is from December to May, when the weather is driest and the skies are clearest. The wet season begins in June and ends in October. The Scenic Eclipse departs for Havana on the 30th October, at the start of the dry season, when temperatures are pleasant and risk of unpredictable weather is reduced.

Day 1 - Havana
Cruise into Havana, and admire the views from afar before diving into Cuba’s oldest and most evocative city. Learn the fascinating history of the revolution as you enjoy an all-important tour in a 1950’s vintage car. Alternative Freechoice options include a walking tour of Old Havana, a visit to the house of José Rodríguez Fuster, one of the country’s most celebrated artists and ceramicists, or a tour of the Capitol Building and the Gran Teatro de La Habana theatre. Later, in the evening, learn more about Cuba’s culture with a private drum and dancing performance.

Day 2 - Havana
Awake to your second day in Havana. After breakfast, follow in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway, who lived in the city, or visit the world-renowned cigar factories and rum museums to see how these cherished handmade products are made. That night, watch the age-old tradition of the firing of the canon at Castillo del Morro with beautiful views of the floodlit city behind.

Day 3 – Day at Sea
Relax and enjoy the luxury facilities of Scenic Eclipse as you spend the day at sea. Take a cooking lesson in Scenic Epicure, rejuvenate in the spa or with a yoga session or simply bathe in the sun and enjoy the all-inclusive refreshments.

Day 4 – Lighthouse Reef
Arrive at Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll off the coast of Belize. Here, you will find the Giant Blue Hole, which forms part of the World Heritage-listed Belize Barrier Reef System, and Half Moon Caye national park and bird sanctuary. See the natural splendour from a birds-eye-view with a helicopter, or board the submarine to see the underwater caves below. Divers will love the scuba opportunities, though other options include snorkelling the reefs, paddling a kayak and exploring by Zodiac. Wildlife lovers can also head off on foot in search of nesting sea turtles.

Day 5 – Day at Sea
Spend the day at sea crossing the sparkling waters of the Caribbean. Weather permitting, the captain will make a stop at a small tropical cay along the way for those who wish to enjoy snorkelling, kayaking or a trip out on a Zodiac – alternatively, relax aboard the Scenic Eclipse.

Day 6 - Providencia
Off the coast of Panama, stop at the small Colombian island of Providencia, known for being the former base of the notorious pirate, Henry Morgan. While here, you can explore with helicopter, submarine and scuba diving excursions, or head to the nearby Crab Cay to snorkel in the crystal waters. If you would rather stay dry, hike to the top of Morgan’s Head or simply relax on the beach with a picnic prepared by the chef.

Day 7 – Bocas del Toro Archipelago
Discover Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park, an extensive marine habitat and important sea turtle nesting site, and enjoy helicopter, submarine and scuba diving excursions. Alternatively, explore by Zodiac or kayak, or snorkel the marine park. For a more relaxed option, stroll the beaches in search of nesting sea turtles.

Day 8 – San Blas Islands
Another beautiful archipelago is the final stop of your cruise. Home to the native community of Kuna Indians, the surroundings waters are wonderful for snorkelling and scuba diving with coral reefs thriving with marine life. Helicopter, submarine and kayaking excursions are also available, though the pristine sandy beaches with tropical coconut palms are perfect for relaxing on with a picnic prepared by the chef.

Day 9 – Cartagena
After breakfast on board Scenic Eclipse, disembark the ship at Cartagena in Colombia.
