Elegant Resorts is delighted to announce that they are supporting the ARK Sculpture Exhibition at Chester Cathedral. From Friday 7th July to Sunday 15th October 2017, ninety pieces of artwork by more than fifty celebrated sculptures will be on display to the public in Chester Cathedral. This amazing event is the largest of its kind in the North West and Elegant Resorts is proud to sponsor such a worthwhile cultural cause. Featured artists include Damien Hirst, Anthony Gormley, Barbara Hepworth and Eduardo Paolozzi, amongst others.
Curated by the renowned Pangolin gallery, the ARK Sculpture Exhibition explores the natural world and the beauty of animals, presented against the magnificent backdrop of Chester Cathedral. Visitors enter ‘the ARK’, passing ‘Perceval’, a life-sized sculpture of a working carthorse by British artist, Sarah Lucas. Thereafter, a giant gorilla, zebra, leopard and whale skeleton are among the vast variety of thought-provoking work on display.
As Elegant Resorts began in Chester, supporting local causes and being actively involved in the community is an integral aspect of its philanthropic philosophies and core values. To be raising awareness for art, and a spectacular talent pool of artists, within Chester is a source of great pride for Elegant Resorts and we are delighted to be able to promote the wonderful events taking place around the ARK exhibition. The exhibition is completely free of charge for all visitors and takes around forty minutes to view in its entirety.
As Elegant Resorts continues to support global conservation efforts and partner with causes such as Positive Luxury and Great Plains Conservation, supporting the ARK Sculpture Exhibition is a natural extension of our desire to promote and protect the wonders of the natural world and its inhabitants. Whilst Elegant Resorts provides the world’s most luxurious and ethical safari experiences, we are honoured to be championing this visual safari experience in the heart of Chester.
