Culture & History
Located in the charming town of Monopoli, the hotel is named after the Neapolitan nobleman of Don Ferrante. When Don Ferrante became the Viceroy of Bari and Otranto, a small fortress was constructed close to the southern side of the castle walls, which is the building where Don Ferrante hotel lies today. It is impossible to miss Charles V Castle in the town's historical centre; the coastal fortifications were determined by Charles V of Spain and constructed in the 1500s on a promontory jutting out to sea.
Overlooking the historic town of Monopoli, and boasting outstanding views over the mesmerising Adriatic Sea, Don Ferrante presents a truly exceptional romantic escape. Walk hand-in-hand around the beautiful, sun-soaked, streets of Monopoli, before strolling under fascinating Neo Gothic arches towards the picture-perfect, historic port of Monopoli. Unwind after a day's sightseeing at Don Ferrante's Terrace with a drink or delicious meal whilst under the canopy of twinkling stars and the glistening waters of the Adriatic Sea, before heading back to your beautifully appointed room for a nightcap.
