Stretching along Turkey's southern coast, Bodrum has plenty to offer, whether it be luxury hotels, inspiring history, adventurous watersports or beach bliss. A perfect balance of old and new, away from the contemporary resorts, you'll find some of Turkey's most intriguing history, including ancient castles and historical ruins spread across the peninsula. For those with an adventurous side, the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea are perfect for watersports, such as kayaking, wakeboarding or jet-skiing, whilst the pristine sands that line the shore are idyllic for those who simply wish to relax in Bodrum's year-round mild climate. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to tempt your palate, including along the waterfront with plenty of mouth-watering fresh seafood on the menu. Evenings can be as busy or relaxed as you desire, from bustling bars to chilled cafes.

Bodrum Castle

The pretty harbour town of Bodrum is dominated by The Castle of St Peter that dates from the 15th century. The UNESCO World-Heritage listed landmark offers travellers an insight into Turkey’s colourful and cultured history, with some assets dating back to the 4th century B.C. Today, the castle is also home to the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, one of the most significant museums of its type in the world.

Bodrum Old Town

Although Bodrum offers plenty of luxurious hotels and resorts, the Old Town maintains its quintessential charm with cobblestone streets and whitewashed buildings. A haven for photographers, these picturesque alleyways lead to shops and stalls selling souvenirs, crafts, clothing and fabrics.

Kara Ada

Accessible by boat, the tiny island of Kara Ada lies at the entrance of the Bodrum harbour. The island is home to healing mineral springs and presents a wonderful escape from the mainland for a few hours of relaxation.

Bodrum has a Mediterranean climate, with hot and humid summers and mild winters. On average, the hottest months fall between June and August, and the coldest months fall between December to February, with December seeing the highest rainfall.
