Villa La Massa is situated to the south of the city of Florence - the regional capital of Tuscany. Tuscany and Florence in particular was the birthplace of the great era of humanism and the Renaissance - movements which radically renewed the culture and art of the time. As a result there is a colourful history, many architectural masterpieces and priceless art collections on display. There are a number of highlights: the Duomo which is one of the astonishing engineering feats from the Renaissance, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, the ancient Baptistry and the superb Medici Palace.

Florence is small enough to enjoy on foot and the narrow streets are a perfect place to enjoy a spot of window-shopping, find a fantastic 'gelato' (ice-cream) shop or to linger over an espresso at a pavement café. Florence also offers a varied nightlife from everything from salsa to opera.
