Accommodation
Accommodation ranges from single rooms to Deluxe, Executive and Royal Suites, and there are also romantic Honeymoon Suites for couples and newlyweds, alike. Each guest room is furnished to a high standard and in a Colonial/Edwardian style, with amenities including air-conditioning, satellite television, mini-bar, personal safes and a spacious en suite bathroom comprising a bath and shower.
Leisure Facilities
The children's programme includes a goody bag with puzzles and sweets. Nature trails and babysitting are also available.
The private footpath to Victoria Falls only takes ten minutes and is accessible directly from the hotel. The falls, which border both Zimbabwe and Zambia, are a compelling reminder of nature's overwhelming beauty and power. Billows of vaporised smoke travel upwards, caused by the sheer ferocity of the plummeting water. With 550,000 cubic metres spilling over the edge every minute, the spray reaches heights of four-hundred metres, meaning waterproofs and sensible shoes are highly advised. Between November and March you are likely to find higher volumes of water and dramatic scenery, albeit much of it obscured by spray. During the dry season (April to October), the falls are a little less overwhelming and not so much a deluge, but rather a light flow of water. However, expect clearer views and good rainbows.
The wonderfully dainty in-house chapel can accommodate up to thirty guests, with outdoor receptions possible in the hotel gardens - wedding photographs can be taken overlooking the spectacular Victoria Falls Bridge. Everything will be arranged to make your special day as perfect as possible, from the in-house florist, to ordering your wedding cake and beauty treatments in the salon. Newlyweds will be spoilt by a fabulous service in the Honeymoon Suite; greeted with sparkling wine, chocolates and red roses, these extra-special guest rooms boast a four-poster bed and an in-room Champagne breakfast the morning following the wedding. For small, unique yet totally individual weddings, The Victoria Falls Hotel will go above and beyond to create the very best celebration from beginning to end.
Golf enthusiasts can tee-off at The Victoria Falls' sister hotel, Elephant Hills Inter-Continental, at its eighteen-hole Championship golf course. Designed by Gary Player and striking in every way, it is unlikely he designed the course with animal encounters in mind; animals do, however, occasionally meander across the course - everything from antelope to warthogs and elephants - make for an interesting, if not slightly unusual, golfing obstacle.
