Leisure Facilities
Open daily, Kamp Kwena is a place especially for children where they can make a friend and learn something new, where the days are an adventure and always too short. This is a supervised activity programme for all young Sun City Guests ranging from 2 to 12 years old (during seasonal periods) and for children age 4 to 12 years old (during the out-of-season period). The Kamp Kwena Fort is based at the Cabanas children's activities park. Facilities for kids at the activity park include African Adventure, mini golf and mini cars, trampolines, Animal World, a playground and Waterworld. Youngsters can participate in creative activities, swimming, outings, nature walks, bumper boats, cruises, wildlife game-drives, sandcastle building, magic performances, races, mini Olympics, sporting fun, outdoor and indoor games and much more. Dance Heaven for Teens is where top DJs rip the decks with funky beats. Youngsters between 12 and 17 years old will be entertained for hours in a safe and fun environment at Club Chirp.
Sun City has two incredible par-72 championship golf courses designed by South African golf legend, Gary Player. Set against the rugged backdrop of the Pilanesburg mountains, they offer visitors to Southern Africa's premier resort an exciting and challenging golf experience as the exotic allure of the Lost City Golf Course and the championship nature of the Gary Player Country Club test the grit of many fine golfers.
Sun City Resort has a unique heartbeat and African rhythm all of its own and is unlike any other resort destination in the world. Adjoining the resort is the beautiful Pilanesburg National Park, which will delight game-viewers as it is a malaria-free zone and home to the ‘Big Five’. Specialist Guides ensure guests experience a true African safari aboard a specially equipped six-seater Land Cruiser. Guests may spot rhinos wallowing in mud baths, bull elephants fighting for supremacy or even a lion kill an unsuspecting antelope. The Land Cruisers are equipped with warm flannels and blankets for those cold night game-drives in search of nocturnal wildlife as leopards are spotlighted in the arid landscape, beneath the moonlight.
Alternatives to the more traditional safari experience include a morning Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Pilanesburg Game Reserve, an Elephant Back Safari through the Letsatsing Game Reserve or a Segway safari, all of which can be arranged.
There are many more activities available too, including a visit to the Cultural Centre where you can let the Sangoma throw the bones to interpret your future for you, take a self-drive boat out at Waterworld or visit the butterfly centre.
