This luxurious lodge is situated in the scenic foothills of the Virunga volcanic mountains, the only place in the world where the critically endangered Mountain Gorilla survives. Gorilla treks provide a thrilling opportunity for visitors to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, a mesmerising spectacle that some consider the highlight of a lifetime's travel. Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge comprises a cluster of rather grand guest cottages plus the main lodge, all crafted from local stone and set in landscaped gardens. The cottages feature spacious sitting areas and fireplaces, as well as extravagant en suite bathrooms plus a sheltered, private veranda for contemplating this most magical setting in peace.
