Description

The Rocky Mountaineer train offers everything you’d expect when imagining glamorous modern travel through the Canadian Rockies; from the train’s locomotives, chugging across soaring suspension bridges and spectacular scenery, to friendships built amongst fellow guests and a relaxing ambience, the Rocky Mountaineer never fails to impress. The train offers three service levels, including GoldLeaf, where guests are ensconsed in a luxury two-storey glass-domed coach with full-length windows, comfortable reclining seats that have the ability to rotate and an exclusive restaurant car, where sumptuous gourmet cuisine can be enjoyed. Gracing the tracks with elegance and sophistication while slicing through scenery that is both enchanting and inspiring, six different itineraries - including First Passage to the West, Journey Through the Clouds and Rainforest to Goldrush - detail the progress of the Canadian railway system, dating back to routes constructed over a century ago. Maintaining a romantic nostalgia, the train visits diverse mountain ranges, glacier-fed lakes, coastlines and canyons while offering exquisite cuisine and the very best service from its friendly, attentive staff.

In Addition

Guests will be spending nine hours per day on board the Rocky Mountaineer, which provides invaluable time to observe the passing scenery and wildlife. There are no power sockets and little phone signal on board, so laptops and mobile phones are not advised. You can, however, organise extensions to your trip and additional sightseeing opportunities can be arranged.

Itineraries have a duration of two days or more and travel across some of the most spectacular terrain in Canada. Voyage between Banff and Calgary while crossing the glorious Continental Divide, or depart from Vancouver and head towards Fraser Valley, admiring the rocky waters at Hell’s Gate en route. Follow the Thompson River, deep into the interior, before arriving in Kamloops, or head towards Jasper, passing by waterfalls, glaciers and the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson. Alternatively, you could venture towards the popular ski resort of Whistler and then traverse past Canadian farmland, high desert and the Cariboo Plateau. Either way, you are guaranteed a formidable, inspirational journey across the spectacular landscapes of Canada.
