Luxury Portofino Holidays

A firm favourite of the jet-set, the 'great and the good' flock to Portofino on the Italian Riviera; a picturesque, half-moon shaped seaside village with pastel houses lining its harbour, chic shops, restaurants, cafes and fabulous hotels. Its crystal-green water reveals a myriad display of aquatic life (most of the water along the coast from Santa Margherita around to Camogli is a protected area), while the castle sits on the hill overlooking the village. The headland is surprisingly quiet; a protected park with pine and chestnut woods, fragrant plants and flowers. There are also opportunities for hiking, diving and boating. Portofino isn't an obvious family resort as it is more geared to style-loving couples wanting a quiet break – as is the secluded sandy beach at nearby Paraggi.
