On-board Facilities

Accommodation

The m/s Paul Gauguin ship enjoys all out-facing suites, 70% of which have balconies. Suites have queen-size beds and lavish bathrooms with full-size bath, shower and L'Occitane toiletries. There is ample storage space and a host of convenient amenities including a television and DVD/CD player, fully stocked fridge, temperature controls, bathrobes and slippers. The charming turn-down service offers an assortment of nightly gifts, including whimsical notes detailing the rich history of the South Pacific.

Food & Beverage

The ship accommodates three well-appointed restaurants, serving a combination of French Polynesian and Continental cuisine. L'etoile is regarded as the main restaurant, boasting a French-based menu infused with Polynesian characteristics as well as a comprehensive selection of light, healthy and vegetarian dishes. Guests can opt between open-seating or private tables surrounded by rich mahogany and pearwood furnishings. La Veranda boasts superb floor-to-ceiling windows and both indoor and alfresco dining, making it the ideal location for breakfast and lunch, while at night, La Veranda transforms into a French Bistro. The poolside Le Grill is a sophisticated, yet casual restaurant serving a buffet by day and grill cuisine by night. In addition, there is 24-hour room service and daily afternoon tea including sandwiches, cakes and fresh scones.

Relaxation & Education

There is daily entertainment with performances at La Palette - also transforming into a disco after 11pm, The Piano Bar, Grand Salon and an intimate casino. The Troupe of Gauguins (part staff, part entertainers) are ever-willing to assist, inform and delight, introducing Polynesian culture as they go. Part of the ship's itinerary includes a call at the private motu (or tiny tropical-island) for an entire day of uninterrupted relaxation. Basking in the sun on a private Pacific Ocean island, guests enjoy lunch, an open-bar and numerous water-based activities. Paying tribute to the ship's heritage, on-board enrichment lectures are a common occurrence, coupled with arts and Champagne evenings where a host of environmental advocates, including Jean-Michel Cousteau, engage their audience with the most captivating of presentations.

Itineraries

The m/s Paul Gauguin was specifically designed to grace the azure-blue seas of French Polynesia and because it travels to no other destination, it remains the most loyal ship to the South Pacific. As a result, there is only one way to discover such utopian islands such as Tuamotus, The Marquesas and Tahiti, as well as the Cook Islands and the Society Islands, and that's on-board the m/s Paul Gauguin. Itineraries combine at least two distinct island collections, spending between seven and fourteen days sailing their idyllic shores and unearthing the soul of Polynesia; its people, practices and picture-perfect habitats.
