The Rocco Forte Collection

The Rocco Forte Collection was established in 1996 to create a group of luxury properties in key European destinations operating under the positioning of ‘The Art of Simple Luxury’. The Hotel de Russie and the Hotel Savoy have their own personality, reflecting its location and nationality. As members of The Rocco Forte Collection, they share a high priority for stylish design and attention to detail, exemplary levels of service delivery and the latest technology. All have exercise facilities and several of them have sizeable spas and health clubs. The restaurants within the hotels have their own identity and serve food of the highest standard to both guests and local residents.

Sir Rocco’s sister Olga Polizzi oversees design for The Rocco Forte Collection and combines the tradition and locality of the cities the hotels are based in with modernity using, for example, local artworks and furnishings to create a signature of the place. Independent designers will often be brought in to work on different hotel projects, these are usually people without a traditional industry background as they bring a fresh perspective to hotel design

  • In December 1997, The Rocco Forte Collection acquired Hotel Savoy on the Piazza della Repubblica in central Florence, near to the landmark Duomo. The Olga Polizzi-designed 102-bedroom hotel features quirky images of shoes throughout, illustrating the city’s association with shoes and the fashion industry. Hotel highlights include L’Incontro Bar and Restaurant, which overlook the Piazza Repubblica, and a fitness centre at the top of the hotel with stunning views over Florence. Hotel Savoy’s intimate atmosphere provides the perfect setting for prestigious meetings and the hotel has formed an alliance with a selection of private palazzi in the city to hold exclusive larger events.
  • Designed by Tommaso Ziffer, the 125-bedroom Hotel Du Russie on Rome’s fashionable Via del Babuino, which runs between the Spanish Steps and the Piazza del Popolo, opened in April 2000. A favourite with the Hollywood A-list, the hotel is famous for its stunning terraced gardens which feature a beautiful butterfly oasis, created in conjunction with the WWF. The hotel’s new Olga Polizzi-designed Nijinsky Suite is the talk of the town and its extensive terrace is ideal for exclusive entertaining. Other highlights include a luxurious spa and gym, the De Russie Wellness Zone; four meeting rooms; Le Jardin de Russie restaurant and the Stravinskij Bar.
